How Become a National Centre Member
A National Centre Member is a network, a concentrator of activities, local and global, working proactively in the field of amateur theatre. It is an official body representing amateur theatre activity on a national level or in a self-governing territory, which is part of a country.
Due to specific political structures in some countries, more than one National Centre Member can be accepted as a representative body for amateur theatre in self-governing territories that are parts of these countries.
National Centre Members network with amateur theatre organisations throughout their country or self-governing territory. They communicate and co-ordinate information from AITA/IATA asbl to these organisations.
National Centre Members have 6 votes at the General Assembly.

Membership Fees
The Membership Fee for National Centre Members, which was increased at the 2024 General Assembly, is as follows:
➜ 595 Euro for a National Centre Member in a United Nations HDI Category 1 (Very High) Country
➜ 435 Euro for a National Centre Member in a United Nations HDI Category 2 (High) Country
➜ 250 Euro for a National Centre Member in a United Nations HDI Category 3 (Medium) Country
➜ 60 Euro for a National Centre Member in a United Nations HDI Category 4 (Low) Country

To become a Member National Centre of your country or self-governing territory, an organisation has to be proposed by Council and accepted by the General Assembly of AITA/IATA asbl.
Bottom 10 country rule
Bottom 10 countries on the UN HDI list are charged according to the category immediately below them. As the UN HDI list may change annually, the countries included in this group may vary from year to year. Consequently, AITA/IATA members may notice that fees for some countries are lower in one year and higher in the next, depending on changes in their HDI ranking and the category they fall under in the updated list.
This arrangement is intended as temporary support from AITA, allowing countries in the bottom 10 to avoid immediately paying the higher fee that would normally apply to their category. However, members should be aware that this is not a permanent reduction and should plan accordingly, as if their position changes or they move out of the bottom 10 of their own category in a future HDI update, the applicable fee may increase in the following year.
