Online Course: Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Cambridge

Professor Michael Earley, Course Director of the Certificate in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), has written an insightful article, “Studying Theatre at a Distance: A New Way to Enter a Living Art Form.” The full article explores new ways of engaging with theatre and performance through distance learning and can be read by clicking the button below.

We are also pleased to share a special opportunity for AITA/IATA members: the first 10 AITA/IATA members who apply through the AITA/IATA Secretariat are eligible for an exclusive £150 discount on the Undergraduate Certificate in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Cambridge PACE.

AITA/IATA members interested in the course should first contact the AITA/IATA Secretariat at secretariat@aitaiata.net to access the special offer. Those who are not AITA/IATA members and would like to learn more about the course should contact Professor Michael Earley directly at me516@cam.ac.uk.

Excerpt from the article:
“Theatre has never belonged only to buildings. It has always travelled across cultures, languages, borders, communities, stages, streets, festivals, schools, homes, and now digital environments. To study theatre at a distance is not to remove it from life, but to approach it through new forms of access, discussion, research, viewing, writing, and collaboration. Online learning makes it possible for students who might never otherwise be in the same room to meet, think, question, and learn together.”
