Lalabala Children’s Festival is the only international children’s theatre festival in Nepal. Since its launch in 2016, the festival has grown steadily and has now reached its 5th edition, which welcomed participants from 12 countries.
Abstract Kids from the UK performed a piece specially created for young children, and it was loved by all. Performances from Sri Lanka, Iran, Nepal and Japan also received great appreciation from the audience. In addition, groups from India, Bangladesh, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Brazil, and Thailand took part.
The festival also includes a range of workshops designed for children. The Lalabala Kathmandu International Children’s Festival is organised by Imperial World School, with Tanka Chaulagain serving as Festival Director. Season 6 will be held at the same venue from 2 to 6 November 2026.
