ONLINE International Theatre Festival

THEATRE IS MY LOVE


AITA/IATA Members and Associates were invited to submit a video to take part in

THEATRE IS MY LOVE, an online International Theatre Festival. The event was

inspired by Alla Zorina of the AITA/IATA Russian Member (National Centre)

and has been created in co-operation with CEC, NEATA and AITA/IATA.


The selection panel were Alla Zorina, Russia & CEC; Kristiina Oomer, Estonia & NEATA

and Aled Rhys-Jones, GB (Wales), AITA/AITA Councillor. Eighteen entries

were submitted and after much deliberation, ten were selected for presentation.

























Sunday 22 November – festival opening by Zoom and YouTube


The festival will open on Zoom - HERE are details of the Zoom link - on

Sunday 22 November at 17:00 Moscow time (check the time in your

country HERE). AITA/AITA President Béatrice Cellario will open the

festival and Alla Zorina and Kristiina Oomer will also speak.


After a short break the first performance, Decameron from Russia, will be

available on the Festival YouTube Channel.

From Monday 23 November through to Friday 27 November, there will

be one or two performances starting at 19:00 Moscow time available on

YouTube.


Saturday 28 November – festival closing events by Zoom


The festival will close on Zoom - HERE are details of the Zoom link -

on Saturday 28 November starting at 17:00 Moscow time.


Play Discussion


There will be a short 5 – 6 minute discussion of each of the

performances led by a panel of experts – these are:

Frank Katoola, Uganda

Thorgeir Tryggvason, Iceland

Anastasia Kazmina, Russia

Overseeing the timing of this discussion will be Dirk De Corte, Belgium and

the event should take around an hour.


Directors Forum – “Amateur Theatre Time for Change”


An opportunity for festival participants, and anyone interested in the future of

amateur theatre to contribute. Facilitated by Dirk De Corte, this will be an

opportunity to consider issues such as the development of amateur theatre,

the purpose of amateur theatre festivals, and the role and influence

of amateur theatres on the international cultural space.
