We are pleased to invite you to the XVI International Educational and Social Theater Festival "Il Gerione" 10 to 29 May 2021.
This year the festival will be held in mixed form, with performances and activities available on site, in Campagna (Italy), and online in order to ensure a wide participation and taking into account the difficulties of national and international travel that may exist during the Festival period due to the COVID-19 emergency.
The topic of this year is Future memories - "Remembering Yesterday, Living Today, Building Tomorrow".The festival is part of an important international project “M-EMO-histoRY” supported by the “Europe for Citizens - Strand European Remembrance” program.
The "Europe for Citizens" Program aims to raise awareness of the memory, history, common values of the European Union and promote social commitment, intercultural dialogue and the democratic and civic involvement of citizens.
The project does not simply want to commemorate the events of History, but wants to spread the stories of ordinary people drawing the lessons for today: storie of suffering, of death, but also stories of solidarity and salvation.
